Gunnar Adalberth joined UPS in 1990 as an international marketing analyst at UPS’s former corporate headquarters in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA, until 1993, when he moved to Frankfurt, Germany. In the following years, he gained experience at the company through various positions in the marketing, strategy and business development teams. He moved around Europe, living and working in Germany, the UK, Belgium, and Sweden.
Between 2006 and 2009, Gunnar oversaw the management and growth of UPS’ revenues in the Nordic countries in his role of director of sales for Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, and Norway.
In 2009, he was promoted to the position of UPS director of business development for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, managing the company’s relationships with all London 2012 sponsors and stakeholders. In this role, he successfully positioned UPS to provide competitive supply chain solutions to all relevant companies associated with the London 2012 Games.
In 2013, Gunnar was named director of business development for the UPS Access Point network. Launched in 2014, UPS Access Point locations are a flexible alternative to home delivery where busy consumers purchasing goods over the Internet can choose delivery and returns locations such as convenience stores, petrol stations and newsagents. Today, there are 16,000 UPS Access Point locations in Europe.
Gunnar was born in Stockholm, Sweden, where he also lives. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing & Management from Union University and obtained an MBA in International Marketing from The Owen School of Business at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
