Being a pro-active supervisor, Lietuvos bankas(the Bank of Lithuania) has established a pioneering regulatory environment that fosters innovation. As a result, it has implemented such projects as an onboarding programme for newcomers, blockchain and regulatory sandboxes, Regtech solutions, as well as introduced the world‘s first digital collector coin. 

Currently, the Bank of Lithuania supervises more than 130 e-money and payment institutions as well as other licensed market participants, which contribute to the rapid growth of Lithuania’s FinTech ecosystem.
